Who qualifies

You need to check every box below.

  • Lived in the City of Detroit for the past 12 months. Proof of residency is required.
  • No home ownership in the past 3 years. No interest in any other real estate at time of purchase.
  • Household income at or below the program limit. See the table below.
  • Complete a homebuyer education course. We will point you to an approved one.
  • Buy in the City of Detroit. Primary residence only.
  • Applications are prioritized for 2023 flood impact. A FEMA or DWSD claim is needed to document it.
